Calgary, Alberta’s alt-rock sweethearts Shuffalo deliver open-hearted affirmations in a sensitive time. Wilderness-inspired imagery and unpretentious emotional storytelling is expressed in an unvarnished falsetto by frontman Brayden Bell in front of intricate indie compositions and mountainous hooks.

Their debut EP, the soft and sweet indie pop endeavor Heart Attack, garnered strong regional acclaim including winning YYC music awards for Alternative Recording of the Year. Shuffalo has supported acts including Shred Kelly, Lucy Rose, Said The Whale and Dave Monks of Tokyo Police Club. The band has performed at the Calgary Stampede, BIG Winter Classic, and the alexrainbirdMusic 1 million subscriber digital festival. The band has received radio airplay from CBC and X92.9 FM, has been listed on hundreds of playlists, and was recently featured on the official Sportsnet 31 Thoughts podcast.

For the follow up, the band recruited Juno award winning producer Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge) and Matt Di Pompiono at Echoplant Studios. The result was two tracks that brought danceability and groove to their indie boy-band ethic, the mysterious ‘Whispers’ with melting synths and the sharp build and release of ‘Stay On Me’ for which the band pulled in the Prophets of Music award. Expanding their efforts and sounds, the band “took on the world a little more” according to frontman Brayden Bell. Moving into contemporary rock soundspace, Shuffalo began to “pull from the present times” while maintaining a reverence for late ‘90s pop rock. Solidifying their lineup, the band is getting back into the studio to work on a debut full length album, currently slated for fall 2022.
